Selbstportrait mit Anderen

As a photographer Layla Gysin focuses on her counterpart as well as the humans surrounding her, while she stays anonymous. In her recent series of photographs entitled "Self-portrait with Others" (2020) a mirror reflects the photographer’s view. The photographic examination of the portrayed figures shifts into a self-examination, questioning one’s own role as a photographer, as well as what one’s view on the ‘Other’ ultimately says about oneself.
